Design Organisation Manager – Airworthiness & Certification (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

In this role, you will manage and further develop Design Organisation Approvals and ensure the effectiveness of the Design Assurance System. You will act as a central interface to aviation authorities and support certification, airworthiness, supplier-control and safety-management activities.

Your tasks

• Maintain, extend and obtain Design Organisation Approvals, including additional privileges, products and organizational changes
• Act as the central contact for aviation authorities and lead negotiations regarding airworthiness, environmental protection and Operational Suitability Data
• Demonstrate compliance of Design Organisation handbooks and manage changes to approved manuals, procedures, methods and tools
• Ensure that compliance checklists and the approved procedural basis are maintained and available across the organization
• Support Design Supplier Control Managers in defining requirements and qualifying and monitoring Design Organisation suppliers
• Contribute to Safety Management System implementation, engineering bidding and international rule-making and strategy activities

Your profile

• Master’s degree or diploma in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable technical discipline
• More than five years of experience in design engineering and more than four years of project-management experience
• Strong experience in design development and confident use of established design-office tools
• Experience in an aviation Design Organisation, aircraft certification or airworthiness, ideally involving direct authority contact
• Sound knowledge of aviation regulations, preferably including EASA Part 21J and Design Assurance requirements
• Business-fluent English, strong organizational and communication skills and a proactive, safety-conscious approach; German skills are advantageous
