Gesucht wird ein Softwareentwickler für simulationsgestützte Studien- und Forschungsprojekte. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Entwicklung und Erweiterung militärischer Simulationen mit C++ und Python sowie auf der Integration externer Hard- und Softwaresysteme.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Mitarbeit in einem agilen Projektteam für simulationsgestützte Studien- und Forschungsprojekte
• Entwicklung in hauseigenen Simulationswerkzeugen und Erweiterung um neue Fähigkeiten, z. B. zusätzliche Simulationsmodelle und Schnittstellen
• Implementierung von Nutzer- und Systemanforderungen für die Simulation von Systemen
• Implementierung und Erweiterung militärischer Simulationen mit C++ und Python in den Domänen Land, Luft, See, Weltraum und Cyber
• Implementierung von Schnittstellen zur Einbindung externer Hardware- und Softwaresysteme in die Simulation
• Umsetzung von Arbeitsaufträgen unter Einhaltung von Zeit, Kosten und Qualität
• Unterstützung der Projektleitung bei Kundenpräsentationen, Besprechungen und der Angebotserstellung
• Praxisnahe Umsetzung und Erprobung in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Fachabteilungen sowie industriellen und wissenschaftlichen Partnern, darunter Universitäten und die Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft

Ihr Profil

• Abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium in Softwareentwicklung oder Informatik beziehungsweise eine vergleichbare Qualifikation auf mindestens Bachelor-Niveau
• Kenntnisse der Detailfunktionen von Python
• Praktische Erfahrung mit C++ im Projektumfeld ist zwingend erforderlich
• Erste Erfahrung in der Entwicklung und Simulation sowie in der Mitarbeit an Softwareprojekten
• Gute praktische Erfahrung von zwei bis drei Jahren in der Entwicklung und Simulation sowie in Softwareprojekten ist wünschenswert
• Gute Kenntnisse zentraler Bibliotheken wie NumPy, OpenCV und Qt für grafische Benutzeroberflächen sind wünschenswert
• Erste Kenntnisse zentraler Bibliotheken, z. B. Qt für grafische Benutzeroberflächen, sind von Vorteil
• Erfahrung im Luft- und Raumfahrtsektor ist von Vorteil
• Grundkenntnisse agiler Softwareentwicklungsmethoden, z. B. Scrum, sind von Vorteil
• Deutsch mindestens verhandlungssicher und Englisch mindestens versiert

We are looking for a Software Developer for simulation-based studies and research projects. The focus is on developing and extending military simulations using C++ and Python and integrating external hardware and software systems.

Your tasks

• Work within an agile project team on simulation-based studies and research projects
• Develop proprietary simulation tools and extend them with new capabilities, e.g. additional simulation models and interfaces
• Implement user and system requirements for system simulation
• Implement and extend military simulations using C++ and Python across the land, air, maritime, space and cyber domains
• Implement interfaces to integrate external hardware and software systems into the simulation
• Complete work assignments in compliance with time, cost and quality requirements
• Support the project manager with customer presentations, meetings and proposal preparation
• Perform practical implementation and testing in cooperation with other specialist departments and industrial and scientific partners, including universities and the Fraunhofer Society

Your profile

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in software development or computer science, or a comparable qualification at least at Bachelor’s level
• Knowledge of detailed Python functions
• Practical experience with C++ in a project environment is mandatory
• Initial experience in development and simulation as well as working on software projects
• Two to three years of good practical experience in development and simulation as well as software projects is desirable
• Good knowledge of key libraries such as NumPy, OpenCV and Qt for graphical user interfaces is desirable
• Initial knowledge of key libraries, e.g. Qt for graphical user interfaces, is an advantage
• Experience in the aerospace sector is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of agile software development methods, e.g. Scrum, is an advantage
• German at least at negotiation level and English at least at an advanced level
