Safety & Reliability Engineer Helicopter Systems (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

In this position, you will perform safety and reliability analyses for military helicopter systems. Working closely with project teams, architects and developers, you will support design decisions, system integration and certification activities.

Your tasks

• Perform safety and reliability analyses to verify design features against the targeted safety performance
• Support system installation in the helicopter to reduce risks from consequential damage, fire or bird strike
• Support design and architecture activities for new developments to ensure the success of future programmes
• Define recommendations for adapting the flight manual to ensure operational safety, where required
• Review information provided by equipment suppliers to ensure that their designs meet safety and reliability requirements
• Support the preparation of evidence demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements and contributing to the approval of modifications
• Support airworthiness and project management teams with design decisions and the certification strategy

Your profile

• Master’s or Diplom degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable field of study
• More than three years of professional experience in design engineering, engineering, development, aerospace and technical documentation
• Negotiation-level English skills are required; good German and/or French language skills are advantageous
• Knowledge of and/or interest in the design or architecture of avionics or flight control systems
• Knowledge of and/or interest in safety and reliability as well as helicopter architecture
• Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, an independent working style, analytical and structured thinking, curiosity, willingness to familiarise yourself with technical aspects and a proactive approach
