As a System Safety Engineer, you conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for military aircraft and systems through to certification. The role focuses on system safety, airworthiness and certification as well as the definition and verification of safety requirements and evidence.
Your tasks
- Conduct main safety assessments, including Functional Hazard Assessment and System Safety Assessment, for military aircraft and systems through to certification
- Conduct risk analyses according to applicable guidance and standards to support continuous aircraft development, including Permit to Fly and Type Certificate activities
- Conduct Common-Cause Analyses, including Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis
- Manage and generate safety requirements, safety evidence such as tests, simulations and analyses, as well as safety procedures and limitations, interfacing with technical domains including processes, maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance and quality
- Strongly influence aircraft and system architecture development according to required safety and integrity levels and act as interface with internal and external stakeholders including Chief Engineering, Project Management, Design Teams, Airworthiness Authorities, Industrial Partners, Customers and Suppliers
- Review, approve and apply supplier data regarding safety and reliability
Your profile
- Master’s degree or diploma in aerospace engineering, physical science or a similar discipline
- At least two years of System Engineering experience with interfaces to Safety Assessment, Airworthiness or Certification
- Knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems is mandatory; System Safety Assessment experience is an advantage
- Detailed specialist knowledge of MS Office
- Experience with safety tools, e.g. Isograph FaultTree+ or Reliability Workbench, is required
- At least business-fluent English; German knowledge is desirable as well as meticulous and safety-oriented working style, while good communication skills and strong problem-solving capability are desirable
