Short role summary

In this role, you are responsible for system safety activities across the development lifecycle of military aircraft and systems, contributing directly to certification, airworthiness and safe system architectures.

Your tasks

  • Performing key safety assessments such as Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA) and System Safety Assessments (SSA)

  • Conducting risk analyses in accordance with applicable standards to support continuous aircraft development, including Permit to Fly and Type Certification

  • Executing common-cause analyses such as Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis

  • Defining, managing and documenting safety requirements, safety evidence (tests, simulations, analyses), procedures and operational limitations

  • Interfacing with other technical domains including processes, maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance and quality

  • Influencing aircraft and system architecture development with regard to safety and integrity requirements

  • Acting as interface to internal and external stakeholders such as Chief Engineering, Project Management, Design Teams, Airworthiness Authorities, industrial partners, customers and suppliers

  • Reviewing, approving and applying supplier data related to safety and reliability

Your profile

  • Completed master’s degree or diploma in aerospace engineering, physical sciences or a comparable discipline

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems

  • At least two years of experience in system engineering with interfaces to safety assessment, airworthiness or certification

  • Experience in system safety assessment is an advantage

  • Confident use of safety tools such as Isograph FaultTree+ or Reliability Workbench

  • Meticulous, structured and safety-oriented working style

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Very good English language skills

  • German language skills are desirable
