In this role, you will work as an Embedded Software Engineer within Flight Control Systems (FCS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS), contributing to the development of safety-critical real-time software for aircraft applications.
You are part of an agile development team designing, implementing and verifying embedded software for flight-critical systems, covering the full lifecycle from requirements to verification.
You work in a safety-critical software environment with high technical depth.
Being part of an agile team designing, implementing and testing safety-critical real-time software
Development of embedded applications and low-level platform software for Flight Control Computers
Performing software reviews and creating technical documentation
Design and documentation of software architecture and detailed software design
Supporting the planning of software increments
Contributing to design definition and continuous improvement
Analysis of stakeholder needs and higher-level requirements
Specification of clear, actionable software requirements in compliance with quality criteria
Allocation of requirements to system and software elements
Management of requirement changes including impact analysis
Verification that requirements are correctly and completely implemented
You are a passionate embedded software engineer with a strong interest in safety-critical systems.
University degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a comparable field (Master/Diploma)
Several years of professional experience in IT or embedded software development
Very good knowledge of embedded systems software development and/or low-level platform software
Very good knowledge of processors and processor architectures for safety-critical computing
Experience in hardware/software interface definition
Strong experience with programming standards and model-based system design (data flow and state machines)
Mandatory experience with model-based system design techniques
Experience with SCADE, automated code generation and requirements engineering
Hands-on experience with safety-critical standards such as ED-12C / DO-178C, ED-218 / DO-331, ED-80 / DO-254
Experience with ARINC 653-based HRTOS and IMA (ED-124 / DO-297) is an advantage
Very good programming skills in C and ADA (must-have)
Ability to work independently, self-motivated and structured
Team player with enthusiasm to share knowledge and continuously improve
Fluent English skills
German language skills are desirable
