Experienced Stress Engineer – Airframe & Systems (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

In this role, you perform structural analyses and strength assessments for airframe and system components throughout the development process. You support design optimisation, testing, certification and the technical evaluation of deviations, repairs and in-service requests.

Your tasks

• Perform sizing calculations using established handbook methods and linear or non-linear finite element methods
• Prepare and approve substantiation reports for static strength, fatigue, durability and damage tolerance
• Define test programmes and test orders and support coupon, component and structural testing activities
• Conduct structural analyses from concept development through detailed design, considering strength, lifetime, weight and cost
• Support certification activities, including preparation and integration of substantiation documentation into relevant databases
• Assess production deviations, define rework and repair solutions and process technical customer service requests

Your profile

• Master’s degree or diploma in aerospace engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree with additional specialist experience and relevant further training
• More than three years of experience in aerospace development, structural mechanics and stress engineering within an international environment
• Several years of practical experience in static strength and fatigue analysis of metallic and composite structures
• Very good knowledge of preliminary sizing, detailed sizing and standard handbook methods such as Niu, Bruhn and HSB
• Advanced knowledge of linear and non-linear FEM methods and tools such as HyperWorks, NASTRAN and OptiStruct
• Business-fluent English and basic experience with Python or comparable tools; German language skills are advantageous
