System Engineer Flight Management Systems & RPAS (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

As a System Engineer for Flight Management Systems, you design and develop FMS and Flight Guidance functions for military and civil applications. The scope includes manned aircraft and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems such as FCAS Remote Carrier and Eurodrone, including automatic and autonomous flight operations.

Your tasks

• Analyze requirements for military and civil Flight Management Systems and Flight Guidance
• Design and develop Flight Management System functions
• Design and develop Flight Guidance functions and trajectory-generation solutions
• Design and develop functions for formation flying and swarming
• Specify and manage Verification and Validation activities
• Contribute to system development for manned aircraft and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, including automatic and autonomous operations

Your profile

• Completed bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace engineering or a similar field
• More than three years of professional experience in IT or information systems and more than three years of professional experience in aerospace
• Solid experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems is required
• Experience with Python or C++ is mandatory
• Experience with Isaac Sim and ROS 2 is beneficial
• Business-fluent English skills; German language skills are desirable
• Strong team orientation, a high level of motivation and willingness to work in an international team
