Mechanical Engineer Helicopter Maintenance Design (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

In this role, you will be responsible for human factors and maintainability activities for military helicopters. You will analyse maintenance tasks and system designs, develop improvements and support the validation of maintenance procedures directly on the helicopter.

Your tasks

• Perform maintainability analyses to assess the accessibility and feasibility of maintenance tasks and compliance with maintenance guidelines for military helicopters
• Conduct ergonomic and human factors analyses to reduce maintenance errors and risks to personnel and helicopters
• Influence system design and system integration to ensure compliance with maintainability requirements and propose alternative design and integration solutions
• Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures, demonstrate them on the helicopter and perform maintenance time analyses to evaluate different system designs
• Investigate and analyse major maintenance-related incidents and prepare technical notes, reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and customers
• Lead and assume responsibility for human factors and maintainability activities, including project management regarding cost, schedule, quality and risk mitigation, subcontractor management and coordination with Design Office and Service & Support organisations

Your profile

• Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering with a specialisation in aeronautical engineering
• Advanced application knowledge of CATIA V5
• Business-fluent English skills are required; German and/or French skills are an advantage
• Knowledge of helicopter systems is an advantage
• Knowledge of ergonomics is desirable
• Independent and organised working style, strong sense of responsibility, very good communication skills and a hands-on mentality
