Embedded Real-Time Software Developer and Architect (m/w/d) – AIRBUS

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

We are looking for a Software Developer and Architect specializing in embedded avionics software. The focus is on the development and integration of real-time, safety-critical embedded systems for aerospace applications.

Your tasks

• Design, develop and maintain embedded avionics software for aerospace systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and systems engineers, to ensure seamless software integration into avionics systems
• Ensure compliance with aviation standards, such as DO-178C and DO-254, and safety-critical software-development practices
• Perform hardware-based mission-system integration activities for various projects
• Test, validate and verify software in accordance with aerospace requirements

Your profile

• Completed Master’s degree or Diplom in computer science or aerospace engineering
• More than three years of professional experience in IT or information systems
• More than three years of professional experience in aerospace
• Proven experience in embedded software development for avionics or aerospace applications is required
• Experience with C/C++ and/or Ada and real-time operating systems, such as VxWorks, is required
• Familiarity with avionics standards, such as ARINC 653 and DO-178C, and safety-critical software development
• Experience with virtualization technologies, including resource segregation and drivers
• Knowledge of x86, ARM and RISC-V hardware architectures
• Experience with CI/CD methodologies
• English at least at negotiation level
• German language skills are an advantage
• Self-reliant and systematic working style
• Ability to work in an international team
• Strong communication, networking and teamwork skills
